ESRI – Round table – all that attended, please bring your insights.
Thanks to everyone that brought bags!!!
Interesting focus on climate change, Java scripting interesting, DOI very active at the conference this year, Portal Toolkit demo’d PTK see more at: http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/gisportal-toolkit/index.html, lots of repeat, but many went to new sessions to learn new things, keynote interesting, focus on web technology, attended server, .NET, Java, etc., good tools in 9.3, got to network with the DC folks, central testing with Citrix, Google Earth meeting, NGAC meeting – was interesting and doing numerous things, user presentations were great – many quality presentations.

- DOI releasing all of the Landsat Imagery catalog for free!
- Other high resolution imagers - See imagery list provided in Carol’s PPT. This list provides information on what Carol has now in house and upcoming urban flight plans.

- WBD/NHD – discussed stewardship concerns, DOI’s commitment to this effort and continued support for overseeing stewardship and providing guidelines,
USDA – Ken Ogden – no presentation
- NAIP Update – USDA imagery set to fly in 2010 new state-wide imagery for California. NRCS covers 1/3 of the costs and partners cover the rest. After 2010 this will be a regular schedule of every 3 years. Specs: 1 meter full color. Partnerships efforts – Carol will help with the state partners. See more at: http://165.221.201.14/NAIP.html
- Common Land Unit (CLU) layer – no longer available to the public. New language has locked this up. USDA will work with MOU’s for agencies that need access. For more see: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/FSA/apfoapp?area=home&subject=prod&topic=clu

- Updates – John Ellison –
- Web Services - data appliance donated by ESRI, services will be provided, deployment plan in place, OES & CalFire will be testing first, CMC2 second, then may be opened further. If you do take a look at it please provide feedback on data, performance, etc. Some CASIL data is being provided as services. Right now there is not the capacity for supporting extensive use.
- Terry Takai said that she will hire a California GIO this year. Task force has been pulled together – John, Robert Y., and Mike B. are some of the folks on this group. Met numerous times already, set scope out to write a policy paper supporting the GIO – this has been submitted – has not come back yet. Internal at this time. Paper supports existing policies in California.
- Establish a GIO under CIO
- Direct each agency to appoint a GIO lead
- Establish grants matching program
- Public/Private outreach including industry.
