- IR also being flown and will cost $360K. Need to discuss. Potential contributors out there. Carol will be coordinating this.
- Discussion on issues associated with accuracy and vendors used for this effort, especially outside of the flat lands in the Central Valley. NRCS AFO (http://www.fsa.usda.gov/) will handle the contract.

- Imagery for the Nation –
- 1 foot program – Vicki Lukas has taken this on as an FGDC effort. Many challenges exist when attempting to merge this with other county/city efforts.
- Urban program – Carol has many county-wide and regional images from NGA & DHS efforts. Some areas are more difficult to work with, but others are very successful. This will continue and funding sources are good.
- WBD – Watershed Boundary Delineation (see:
- Current status of this effort – 2 priority areas left to do
- All linework is being reviewed by expert in Utah – they have finished ½ of the priority areas so far.

- CALGIS 2009 in Sacramento (http://www.calgis.org/) – Barbara is the Conference Coordinating Chair. We are looking forward to the CalGIS conference in April 2009. Preparation are being made for the venue and we are developing the conference content. The success of this conference depends on our volunteers and we welcome participation. - Poster
- Program
National Geodetic Survey (NGS), Marti Ikehara
- Height modernization projects include:
- Central Coast (150 bench marks) Big Sur to Mendo with 50 continuous GPS sites, post processing taking longer than expected.
- San Joaquin will be completed soon.
- Sacramento Valley – 350 stations funded by DWR Ground Water Branch.
- DWR Flood Management – LiDAR (1-ft elevation, along stream channels) flown for the entire central valley – northern portion of the valley can use the height mod data. San Joaquin is not as dense as desired. There are proposals for densification.
- INSAR data is being integrated in – working with Gerald Bawden.
- California Geodetic Advisor web site – developing this web site. Please let Marti know if you have ideas on content for this effort she has a student working on this for the next couple of months.
California Activites – John Ellison & Ray McDowell
- California Geospatial Executive Forum - ‘More than a Map’ – http://www.pspinfo.us/forums/Geospatial/index.asp - register if you are interested and with government. The program is on line – see web site for more details! If you have items to add to the booth contact Ray.

- GeoCaching incident – do not place unknown boxes near infrastructure – they could be destroyed. (http://www.geocaching.com/)
- My Hazards – site where the public can go to determine what kind of hazards may be in your area of interest. Includes just natural hazards - earthquakes, floods, etc. Not up and running yet – could be other issues that hold this up.
- CASIL (http://gis.ca.gov/) – site fixes and updates – zipping up many datasets to help novice users. This should also help with the metadata harvesting efforts by GOS. Making data easier to find. Coming soon – keep an eye out for this!
- Maps.CA.Gov – Ray is trying to set this up to provide access to the interactive web sites, completed maps, etc. This would go across agency boundaries and levels of government. Discussion on creating PDFs using GeoPDF to provide these to the public.
- California Public Conservation (not trust) Lands (PCL) – partial replacement of the past PCTL lands. No DOD lands. The accuracy is better (using parcel maps) than it was. Six month lag still associated with this effort. But, with that pretty comprehensive and trying to keep funding in place for the operations and maintenance efforts. Licensing? Open, but cannot resell it. Need to work with GreenInfo Network (http://www.greeninfo.org/) on this.
- Coastal LiDAR – trying to get a coastline and bays LiDAR database. Specifications available from Ray if interested. Concerns on funding are on going. Summer 2009 topo-bathymetric data potentially available as well. Many questions on funding and association with COE. Contact Ray to discuss more, especially if you have $$$.
